Linzy Kim
Flute Teacher
Korean-Canadian flutist Linzy Kim started studying music at age seven. After exploring various instruments, she became captivated by the sound of the flute. She then studied with Donelda Gartshore and graduated in 2011 from Queen’s University. She won 1st place from the Kingston Symphony Association Scholarship and secured 1st Prize at the Kiwanis Competitive Scholarship Class. In 2010, she was one of the Top 4 finalists in the Concerto / Aria Competition and received the Queen’s Performing Arts Award upon graduation.
Linzy has performed as a flutist with orchestras, vocal groups, and musical theatre productions, including Blue Canoe Productions, Counterpoint Orchestra, City Flute, and The Gertrudes. At 23, Linzy moved to Toronto, where she has built her career as a performer and educator. Her lessons typically prepare students for RCM examinations, school band participation, and other musical activities outside of school. She enjoys attending concerts across all genres, festivals, masterclasses, orchestras, and seminars.
